Similar to the [[Old Home]], Abandoned Factory was once used by humans. However, it was eventually left to disuse, and later became a nesting point for Haibane. Despite looking derelict, this is what they use as a home.

The factory Haibane differ to the Old Home haibane in appearance. Whilst Old Home haibane wear mainly formal clothes, Factory haibane tend to wear more casual, fashionable clothes. Some (such as Hyouko) use these clothes to disguise their wings and halos, making them appear human.

Due to an incident many years prior to the events in Haibane Renmei, there is a sense of hostility between the two haibane nests, particularly involving Hyouko, Midori and [[Reki]].
